Beautiful Surrey combines historic market towns and quaint villages with breathtaking scenery, rich wildlife and a wealth of fun activities. This charming county has something for everyone and Tilford Woods offers the perfect base from which to explore it.

Unspoilt woodland valleys meet vast open countryside at the Surrey Hills, one of the first designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the country. The area encompasses a quarter of the county and provides some of the best walking in southern England.

One of the area's most spectacular sites is the Devil's Punchbowl, which is just five miles from Tilford Woods and is Europe's largest spring-eroded valley. This natural marvel is shrouded in legend, brimming with wildlife and interlaced with numerous walking and cycling routes.

Nearby Frensham Common and Ponds boasts a large area of heathland, woodland and two large ponds. Natural inland beaches surround the ponds and visitors can enjoy sunbathing and swimming in the shallow waters during the summer months, while ramblers can take a six mile walk around the area.

The quaint village of Tilford and its picturesque cricket green is within walking distance of the park. A short drive will take you to a number of other pretty rural villages nestled in the Surrey Hills.

The vibrant old English market town of Farnham, with its narrow streets lined with fine Georgian architecture, is just a few miles from Tilford Woods. Among its many attractions are the Waverley Abbey ruins, a historic castle and a museum.

The nearby county town of Guildford has a rich history and is a haven for shoppers, food-lovers and those in search of culture and art. Saunter around the cobbled streets, take a stroll around the grounds of its castle, visit Guildford Cathedral or tour art galleries and the town’s museum.
